Note: This is an update on an article we posted in February about the community wedding in Zorangé.

On Saturday, March 13, our local pastor Jean Roland Denis encouraged brand new believers to formalize their union in a community wedding where 9 couples (including one in their 70s!) “tied the knot” (or “nou te marye” in Creole).

This was a joyous time for our community as the school was decorated for the celebration and a wedding reception held for each bride in their local community. Our supporters helped out in various ways to make this happen including purchasing wedding bands for the couples.

Deb Zechini, of Order in the House and HFHF supporter, put an advertisement in her client newsletter looking for wedding dresses and the word got out. Twelve dresses were collected which will make their way to Haiti to be used in future occasions like this. Thank you to all those who donated wedding dressed and purchased wedding bands!
