On September 21, 2013 it rained here in Cary, North Carolina. It even downpoured for a little while, but that couldn’t stop Rock Your World from raising $30K to help Hope for Haiti in its mission, involving the community, and being an all-around good time!
“Those that braved the rain to come out to see all four bands play enjoyed their time of listening to great music and mingling with patrons, partners and of course, volunteers of HFHF who are fondly called ‘victims of Haiti’s passion.’ I can’t thank you enough for what you’ve enabled us to do the last 13 years,” said Jean Eloi, founder of Hope for Haiti Foundation.
Rock Your World always has good bands and good food, and this year was no exception, as the audience rocked to the Craig Woolard Band, Band of Brothers, AC/DC tribute band Shoot to Thrill, and One More Time. This year, we unveiled the Child Sponsorship program. This program is designed to help children in Zorangé and their families lift themselves out of the cycle of poverty. For just $35/month, you can help change the life of a child in Haiti by providing a daily school lunch, access to books and classroom materials, and access to medical care — things that we might take for granted.
We want to give a huge shout out to all of our sponsors, volunteers, and donors, without whom the night would not have been possible. Thank you so much for helping us make Rock Your World such a good time and for helping Haitians help Haiti! Jean Eloi echoed this by saying, “Because of your partnership, your passion and resources, we are making an impact in three communities in Haiti where we have the honor to prepare a new generation that will change their country with the help of God.”
